A mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a series of anti-adulteration drive here on Wednesday fined seven factories Taka 34 lakh for producing foods in unhygienic environment mixing with harmful chemicals.
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-7 led by its executive magistrate Mohammad Sarwar Alam conducted a drive on Wednesday at the factory of Thai food, Meridian Cheeps and BSC food and company in Sagorika area under Pahartali thana and fined them Taka seven lakh each.
Earlier, the same mobile court conducted a drive at the factory of Olympic Dairy Milk Factory Limited in Sagorika area at around 9 pm and fined it Taka 10 lakh for packaging imported decomposed and adulterated powdered milk.
Conducting similar drives at city’s Kazir Dewry area, the court also fined Red Chili restaurant, Rodella Bikal and KGN restaurant Taka three and a half lakh for producing foods in unhygnic condition.
