Chattogram Bureau :
Police have arrested seven people from Pekua Police Station area of Cox’s Bazar district along with 50,000 pieces of yaba. The estimated value of the recovered yaba is Tk 1.5 crore, police said.
The arrested have been identified as Omar Farooq, 29, son of Sultan Ahmed of Sunnia Para, Sukhchhari village under Amirabad union of Lohagara police station in Chittagong, Shahidul Islam, 28, son of late Nabi Hoshen, Joynal Abedin, 48, son of Ali Ahmed and Riduwanul Karim, son of Mahbubul Alam. Chhabur’s son Md. Sajib (26) and Md. Raju (26) and Dablu Chowdhury (41), son of late Sadhan Chowdhury. They were arrested on Sunday at 8am from the Nuinnya Muinnya Bridge in Sadar Union.Pekua police officer in charge (OC) Ali confirmed the matter.
