Seven policemen were suspended from Chittagomg Metro Police and District police authority for negligence of their duties at court police custody and for extending cooperation to illegal activities. They were suspended on Thursday.
At the same time, police authorities directed to avoid any outsiders to cordon the accused from Jail custody to court and vice versa except police forces. The suspended policemen are – Habilder of District police hazatkhana Abdur Rahim, Abul Bashar, constable Nuru and Faisal of District police and Habilder Jasimuddin, constable Ashim Dhar and Abdul Gafur of metropolitan police assigned in court Hazatkhana.
It is learnt despite the work of handcuff wearing and opening of police duty but court noticed that some outsiders are doing this jobs.
With this allegations, 3 CMP policemen were suspended last week. Additional deputy commissioner of CMP(Prosecution) Md. Rezaul Masud admitted the fact of using the outsiders in carrying the accused from to and from jail cutody to court hazat and the suspension of 3 police constables.
On the other hand District court Police inspector Mr. Anu Maung confirmed the suspension of 4 policemen for negligence of duty in court hazat.
There is a allegations that outsiders Asghar, Saheen, Shahabuddin,Abul,Alam and Jasim regularly doing this jobs of escorting the accused and engaged in teeing and opening of handcuffs to the prisoners extending some illegal benefits to the accused in exchange of good bribe.
Mentionable that one outsider named Asghar was arrested by the order of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Moshiur Rahman while trying to open the handcuff of prisoner illegally by taking financial advantages from the prisoner.
