Some smugglers held a SI of police at Trimohoni Ghat border under Ramkhana union of Nageswari upazila in Kurigram district at 8 pm on Tuesday and released after three hours on the same day.
OC, 3 SIs,one ASI and 2 constables were closed in Kurigram police line. Additional Superintendent of Police Shahabuddin said, 6 police including SI Samsul Islam went to the border area to recover narcotics.
Some smugglers took him to no man’s land in the dark of night forcibly.Being informed director of Kurigram 45 BGB Battalion Lt. Col. Zakir Hossain said BGB members backed him with the help of local people.Superintendent of police Mohammad Tobarak Ullah said a three member committee was formed headed by Additional superintendent of police. OC of Nageswari thana Abdullah Abu Sayed, SI Samsul Alam, SI Ariful Islam,SI Alamgir Hossain, ASI Hasan Sheikh, constable Zahidur and Aminul were closed to Kurigram police lines.
