7 commit suicide for poor results in JSC exams

At least seven students of different classes including five of Junior School Certificate (JSC) examination this year reportedly committed suicide in the country as they failed to come out successful even some of them not to get expected result in their examinations.
Two examinees reportedly killed themselves in Shariatpur and rest five in Barishal, Netrakona, Rajbari, Pabna and capital Dhaka.
In Shariatpur, victim’s family sources said, their daughters, JSC examinee committed suicide after they failed in Math examinations.
Fatema Akther, 14, a student of Idilpur Government High School and daughter of one Mostafa Khan of Mitrasenpatti village in Gosairhat upazila, committed suicide yesterday afternoon.
Meanwhile, another girl was found hanging in Haji Sadim Ali Bepari village in the same upazila. Local sources said that Samia Akther, 11,
a fourth grader, took her own life after her mother scolded following her failure in annual examinations.
Gosairhat Police Station Officer in-Charge Md Selim Reza confirmed the news to the media that they recovered the body of schoolgirl Fatema. She failed last year’s JSC exam and failed this year too that led her to committed suicide.
In Barishal, JSC examinee named Sahida Akhter, 16, reportedly committed suicide by hanging in their house in Kaunia area in the district city wednesday afternoon.
Quoting family members, Kaunia Police Station Officer in-Charge Azimul Karim said, Sahida committed suicide by hanging her from the ceiling fan for being failed to secure GPA-5.
In Netrakona, a twelve-year-old boy named Rudra Sarkar Alam reportedly committed suicide for poor results in annual examinations of VI.
Kalmakanda Police Station Officer in-Charge Md Mazharul Karim confirmed the matter.
In Rajbari, a JSC examinee named Meem Akther, 14, hanged herself after she failed to succeed in examination.
Meem Akther, was a student of Char Joukuri High School and daughter of one Nahid Shikder of Mohadebpur village under Sadar upazila.
Quoting relatives, Rajbari Police Station Officer in-Charge Sawpan Mazumder said a girl named Meem took her own life, and they recovered the body.
In Dhaka, another teenage boy committed suicide in city’s Lalbagh area after he could not pass in JSC examinations.
The deceased was identified as Tushar, 14, son of Mojibor Rahman, said DMCH Police Outpost in-Charge Bachchu Mia.
In Pabna, a girl who failed in the Junior School Certificate (JSC) examination this year reportedly committed suicide at Ashutoshpur Mandalpara village of Doghachi union under Sadar upazila in Pabna on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Muslima Khatun, 14, a student of Ashutoshpur Government High School and daughter of one Md Mahit Sardar, from the area.
Confirming the news, Md Nashim Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge of Pabna Sadar Police Station, said as Muslima failed to get desired result, she hanged herself from the ceiling fan of his room with a scarf at night.
