A clash ensued from a turf war at a village in Munshiganj has left seven people wounded with gunshots.
Nine others were injuries in the clash that broke out on Wednesday morning in Amghata village of Mollakandi Union near the district town.
Police said, followers of local UP Chairman Mohsina Hoque Kalpana and Ripan Patwary, a former UP chairman, clashed with each other.
Shot were fired during the clash as well as crude bombs were lobbed, said Munshiganj police OC Alamgir Hossain.
Several people injured in the clash had been taken to the state-run hospital in Munshiganj town.
Seven people, who sustained gunshot wounds, have been transferred to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said Shaibal Bashak, a doctor at the Munshiganj General Hospital. Police said, they have found a firearm at the scene, but no arrests were made.
Additional forces have been deployed in the area since the crash, OC Hossain told.
