A team of the Customs Intelligence seized 7.6 kilograms gold bars and held two persons from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the capital on Sunday morning.The arrested persons have been identified as Shahinur Alam, 40 and Monjurul Haque Sumon, 26 both inhabitants of Chittagong.Customs Joint Commissioner Kazi Zia Uddin confirming the seize of gold bar said that the law enforcers detained Shahinur Alam with 6 kilogram gold and Monjurul Haque with 1.6 kilogram gold after searching their bodies while they were crossing the green channel of the airport around 6:30am.The seized gold is worth about Tk 4 crore, he added.Shahinur Alam, came to Bangladesh from Malaysia and Manjurul came from Dubai, he said.Alam was detained from beside the airport’s ‘Green Channel with fourteen gold bars’, he added.Legal action was being taken against them, he said. Shahinur arrived from Malaysia on a BG-087 flight of Bangladesh Biman.
