The sixth BSCIC industrial zone of the district is being built at Raozan Upazila of North Chittagong over 35 acres of land .The estimated cost for implementing the industrial zone is about Tk.80 crores . Sources said this BSCIC zone is locating at East Raozan Union of Raozan upazila where atleast 184 industrial units will be established.
BSCIC, Chittagong office sources said after commissioning of zone, 7000workers will be employed. Deputy General Manager of BSCIC, Chittagong Unit Krishna Kumar Achariya told that the Raozan BSCIC zone was approved in the ECNEC meeting . In the meantime, a project officer for the project is also appointed.
Sources said the area development plan will be implemented by 2019 . The project implementation work includes construction of internal road , drains, gasline installation, deep tubewell , sonal panel, culvert cross drain etc.
An reliable sources of the BSCIC told that 4 types of industries will be given priorities like Engineering units, Food and Allied Products industy, Textile products and Chemical plants . Sources said this is the sixth BSCIC zone in Chittagong after Kalurghat-1, Kalurghat-2, Fouzderhat, Solasahar and Patiya .
The project profile was sent to the concerned ministry in 2015 which was passed in the ECNEC in September last.
