The government has undertaken a project to construct 695 kilometres road in border areas from Cox’s Bazar to Khagrachhari via Bandarban and Rangamati district aimed at exploring tourism sector of the country.
“We have a plan to implement the project on the Cox’s Bazar-Bandarban-Rangamati-Khagrachhari within shortest possible period,” Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader told newsmen while inaugurating two bridges on the Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf marine drive as the chief guest in Inani beach area here on Friday.
The country’s tourism sector, he said, would be flourished after construction of the border road in hill tracts districts as well as tourist city of Cox’s Bazar.
