684 homeless families in Kishoreganj to get PM”s Eid gift

“Not a single person of Bangladesh will be homeless in Mujib Centenary” – As per the directive of the Prime Minister, land and houses are being provided to 684 more landless and homeless families in Kishoreganj district.
DC in Kishoreganj Mohammad Shamim Alam disclose the information this at least 684 landless and homeles families will get the hours as third phase to the eid gift of the Prime Minister (PM ) Sheikh Hasina infront of the journalists at local collectorate conference room on monday.
DC Mohammad Shamim Alam said 1247 landless and homeless families in 13 upazilas of Kishoreganj were provided houses with 2% land in the first and second phase.
Besides, a total of 280 families have been rehabilitated in two barracks in Itna upazila.
In the third phase, 727 more families will be provided houses with land. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate 48 of the 728 houses under construction on Tuesday (April 26).
The Deputy Commissioner further said that a total of 2145 landless and homeless families are being rehabilitated in the district in three phases so far.
Deputy Director (DD) & Deputy Secretary (DS)in Local Government (LG) Habibur Rahman, ADC,(Revenu) Md.Nooruzzamam, ADM Farzana Khanam and ADC,(Education &Ict)Golam Mostafa were also present.
Ishwardi (Pabna) Correspondent adds: On the occasion of Mujib Year, 60 homeless and landless families in Ishwardi have been given Eid gifts in the third phase under Asrayan Project-2 on Tuesday. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the semi-finished house gift program worth Tk 2,59,500 through video conferencing. This house was given in Baharpur Asrayan project of Muladuli union of Ishwardi.
Pabna-4 MP Muktijoddha Alhaj Nuruzzaman Biswas, Pabna DC Russell Biswas, Upazila Chairman Muktijoddha Alhaj Naib Ali Biswas, Municipal Mayor Isaac Ali Malitha, Vice Chairman Abdus Salas Khan, Atia Ferdous Kakli and other freedom fighters, government officials, journalists and well-wishers were present. Upazila Nirbahi Officer PM Imrul Kayes presided over the handover ceremony at Ishwardi Upazila Parishad auditorium.
At the time, MP Nuruzzaman Biswas said it was the largest and only project in the world to improve the living standards of so many families. Along with the land, there is employment. A large section of the backward population is moving with the mainstream of society.
Deputy Commissioner Biswas Russell Hossain said that the continuous activities of providing houses to the homeless families in Mujibars are 60 in Ishwardi Upazila, 47 in Pabna Sadar Upazila, 28 in Atgharia Upazila, 22 in Chatmohar Upazila, 10 in Bhangura Upazila, 8 in Faridpur Upazila, 50 in Bera Upazila and 18 in Sujanagar Upazila. There will be 373 houses out of 130 in the upazila. Beneficiaries have been identified after the construction of the house under the close supervision of the district administration.
Ishwardi Upazila Executive Officer P. M Imrul Kayes said the construction of more durable and disaster resistant houses has already been completed. As a result of handing over to the homeless and landless before Eid, this year’s Eid will add a new dimension of joy to them. Each single room in the colorful tinshed has two bedrooms, a kitchen, a toilet, and an open front porch with brick walls, concrete floors and tin canopies.
