UNB, Sherpur :A court here on Sunday sent 68 local leaders and activists of Awami League and associate bodies to jail in two cases filed for vandalising the party office and attacking rival factions in Jhenaigati upazila.Chief Judicial Magistrate Shariful Islam passed the order when they surrendered before his court seeking bail.The accused include former general secretary of Jhenaigati upazila unit of Awami League Golam Mostafa and its former vice-president Mofazzal Hossain Chand.Earlier on November 28 last, a faction of the local Awami League vandalised the upazila unit party office and attacked seven leaders and activists from the other faction over forming grass-roots level committees.
