Dengue spreading: 67 patients admitted in last 24 hours at Barishal, Benapole hospitals

Dengue spreading in south region as infected patients starts reaching from Dhaka.
According to Barishal -Sher -E- Beangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH)sources more 48 dengue infected patients admitted at this hospital within last 24 hours on Friday noon.
Till this report, 187 dengue patients admitted and 71 released after treatment and 2 died and 114 under treatment in last 15-days in Barishal SBMCH.
Among the under treatment 114 patients, 71 were male, 28 females and 15 children, informed Dr. Bakir Hossain, director of SBMCH on Friday noon.
SBMCH sources added that they taking preparations to manage rush of dengue infected patients by opening separate ward at the newly constructed annex section of the hospital as the deterioration of situation apprehended by home coming visitors during Eid Ul Azaha festival.
 Dr. Abdur Rahim, divisional heath director, said rush of suspected patients for taking dengue-tests at private diagnostic centers increasing as no dengue testing-kits (like NS-I) yet reached in 43 public hospitals including one Medical college Hospital of Barishal Division.
The patients alleged that some of private diagnostic centers collecting excessive-charges without giving any receipt. Even some of them were collecting dengue-testing fees without any capabilities of testing dengue virus infection.
Mofijur Rahman Kamal, president of Barishal Diagnostic Centers Owner’s Association, said we already met health decorate officials for ensuring them about collecting government fixed charges for testing dengue infection. We yet not received any allegation about violation of government decision and if any body violated that, action would be taken against him.
Dr. Abdur Rahim, divisional health director, also cautioned that action would be taken if any allegation of taking collecting excessive charges than government fixed rate for dengue tests.
Benapole Correspondent adds: A total of 19 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Jashore in last 24 hours, the civil surgeon office of Jashore confirmed the matter.
The hospital sources said the number of admitted patients were 20 including the newly admitted ones. The dengue affected patient increased to 134.
Dengue is increasing every day. Public and private hospital authorities are in danger of diagnosing the crisis and raising prices. Demand has been raised to ensure supply and regulate market syndicate
However, Imdadul Haque Raju, Acting Civil Surgeon in Jashore, said five dengue patients were identified in the district till Friday afternoon. In the last 24 hours, 134 patients have been infected. Three monitoring teams, a control room and a monitoring cell have been opened to prevent dengue. The situation of dengue is now under control in the district as the people of the area are almost aware about their health.
