The police in special drives between Sunday evening and Monday morning have arrested 67 persons including five Jamaat men in the district. They were arrested for their allege involvement in extremism and some other specific cases in respective police stations.
Additional superintendent of Jhenaidah district police Azbahar Ali Seikh said, they have arrested 22 persons including two Jamaat men from Jhenaidah Sadar upazila, seven from Sailkupa, six from Harinakundu upazila, 11 from Moheshpur and Kaliganj upazila each and nine including three Jamaat men from Kotchandpur upazila during the night long drive.
