At least 6,602 people, including children and women, were reportedly killed and 24,616 injured in different clashes and violence across the country in last year.
Child killing, woman torturing and rape have alarmingly increased in the country, says a press release signed by Advocate Sigma Huda, Chairman of Bangladesh Manabadhikar Bastabayan Sangstha (BMBS).
About 42 kids were murdered by their parents and more than 352 children tortured to death, compared with197 in 2016.
The report says that 330 baby girls were violated, 795 women and children raped in 2017 and 407 in 2016. Even 28 women and children were killed after raped and 117 also gang raped in last year.
Sixty women were tortured by their husbands and their relatives to death for dowry and 62 received severe injuries for the same reason.
At least 407 people, including 293 women, were killed in family clashes focusing angry, land and extra-marital affairs, it said.
The press release reported that 897 people were killed by terrors and miscreants and 592 injured last year.
It also mentions that the terrors uprooted the eyes of a college girl in Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka district in April last year and they also stabbed to death three members of a family in Patuakhali district. At least 149 people were killed in exchange of fire with the law enforcers. Of them, 107 were killed by police, 39 with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and nine were murdered by other forces, the release added.
About 653 people committed suicide due to mainly sexual harassments, abortive love affairs and family dispute. Of the deceased, 417 were women, 194 males and 42 children, it reports.
Even 171 people died and 5781 got injured focusing social dissatisfaction and lack of dignity last year, it said.
About 33 people were killed and 2177 got hurt in political violence on rivalry clash, establishing supremacy, extortion and tender business.
At least 76 people died for wrong treatment in hospital and clinics while 55 people died taking drug and alcohol last year.
About 51 men were killed in mass beating and 37 also became victims of acid throwing.
More than 117 people, mainly opposition party men, went missing last year and over 5631 were detained by police in the same time.
It also criticized the much-controversial Section 57 of ICT Act and Section 32 of proposed Digital Act.
