The 65th birthday of Sheikh Jamal, son of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was observed across the country on Sunday.
Marking the day, Bangladesh Awami League (AL), its associate bodies and other likeminded socio-cultural organisations organized recitation from the holy Quran, milad and doa mahfil, placed wreaths at his graveyard and held discussions.
As part of the programmes, on behalf of the party, AL General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader paid rich tribute to Shaheed Sheikh Jamal, a freedom fighter, by placing wreath at his Banani grave in the morning.
