Police in special drives between Wednesday night and Thursday morning have arrested 63 persons including two Jamaat men in the district.
They were arrested for their allege involvement in extremism and some other specific cases in respective police stations.
Additional Superintendent of Jhenaidah Azbahar Ali Seikh said, they have arrested 18 persons including a Jamaat man from Jhenaidah Sadar upazila, eight from Sailkupa and Harinakundu upazila each, six from Moheshpur,15 from Kaliganj and eight including a Jamaat man from Kotchandpur upazila during the night long drive.
