Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 61,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from near the bank of Naf River at Naitongpara in Teknaf upazila early Friday.
Abujar Al Zahid, commanding officer of BGB-42, said acting on secret information that a boat carrying a consignment of Yaba tablets was coming through
the Naf river, a team of BGB-42 raided the area and recovered 61,000 pieces of Yaba tablet from the boat at about 2:00 am.
The market value of the Yaba tablets is Tk1.83 crore, he added.
However, the BGB could not arrest anyone as the smugglers managed to flee.
