Fraudalence in corona tests: 61 arrested in 13 cases so far

At least 13 cases have been filed so far in different parts of the country, including the capital, against sevaral persons, patrons and beneficiaries who involved in forgery of coronavirus samples test.
In this connection, police and RAB arrested 61 people so far.
Those involved with such fraud, have been kept under surveillance by the law enforcement agencies, sources said.
None will be able to say when the coroner sample test fraud started. However, the first forgery was reported after the arrest of two persons from the Savar upazila health and family planning office for selling fake Covid-19 certificates.
A case was filed with Savar Police Station in this regard, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) FM Shahed Hossain. At first, a resident of Ashulia posted the fake certificate of corona test over the social media. Then police arrested two persons and they gave the confessional statements in the court. They are now in jail, OC added.
Meanwhile, a total of four cases have been filed against JKG Health Care in connetion with fraud, among these two were vandalism easy and embezzlement.
At least 33 people have been arrested in two cases of vandalism. JKG chief executive Ariful Chowdhury, his wife Dr Sabrina Arif Chowdhury and the company’s nurse Tanzina Patwari and her husband graphic designer Humayun Kabir Himu have been charged in the fraud case.
Four cases have been registered in Dhaka, Satkhira and Kapasia in connection with the coronavirus test scandal at the Regent Hospital. RAB has filed the cases as a plaintiff.
RAB arrested 12 people and investigating the fraud cases against Regent scam.
In addition, the elite force agency also found a total of 48 regular cases against Shahed. The investigation officer will take cognizance of those cases if necessary, RAB official added.
On June, RAB-3 launched two separate operations in city’s Mugda area and arrested at least six people including a Member of Ansar over making fake Covid-19 certificates. Two separate cases have been filed against the ring. A large number of counterfeit certificates and certificate making equipment were seized from the cycle.
Besides, police arrested at least five people in two separate cases filed against Medicare Clinic and Abgyan Diagnostic Center at Rooppur in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna for illegally collecting corona samples.
