The 60th birth anniversary of Poet Ahsan Hamid is today (Sunday).
The relatives, well wishers and friends of the poet will celebrate the day at Journalist Residential area in Mirpur. They have also chalked out different programme to celebrate the day.
Ahsan Hamid was born at Bhedorganj in Shariatpur district in 1955.
He started writings at the national dailies and little magazines since 1969. He worked in the journalism profession for 33 years. He is now working with the daily Nayadiganta as Shift In-Charge.
He has been taking part in the Bangladesh Betar as actor and play writer since 1973. He has also been taking part in different programmes of the Bangladesh Betar.
He wrote nine poetries. These are Raktawrinkhelapi, Utkhanthito Eka, Dilam Tomay Nishshobda Shishir, Roder Adhare Boropher Shaf, Fele Jai Nodi and Chora Mithekora.
Ahsan Hamid was elected Publicity Secretary of undivided Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ).
