Atleast 600 leaders and activists of BNP, city unit and district BNP including President of city unit President Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and General Secretary Dr. Shahdat Hossain, and the President of North District BNP and South District BNP Aslam Chowdhury and Enamul Hoque respectively were sued by police in two separate cases for alleged charges of arson, attack on police and vandalism in Kazir dewri and Chowkbazar area on Monday.
Sub- Inspector of Kotwali thana police Md. Ekramullah filed the cases on Monday night and another case lodged with Chowkbazar thana separately.
While contacted Kotwali thana SI Kamrun Nahar Laily confirmed the news of filing suits agains t the leaders and workers of BNP.
Police sources said in the case names of 300 given in the FIR and more than 200 unidentified .
Officer incharge of Chowkbazar Thana Atiq Ahmed told that these leaders and workers alleged with clash, arson and vandalism in chowckbazar are on Monday.
Meanwhile about 300 activists of BNP including the North district president Aslam Chowdhury and the south district vice president Enamul Hoque were arranged from Nasimon Bhaban premises and these arrested workers and leaders were sent to court on Tuesday afternoon and the court ordered them to send to jail custody rejecting the bail petitions.
