Customs authority of Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport seized 60 kgs tortoise meat from cargo shed of the airport on Wednesday.
These meat packed in two cartons, sources said. Sources said an exporter GR Trading of Chittagong exported these meat for a HongKong importer named Riki Trading.
An employee of the exporter was detained in connection.
Asstt commissioner of customs Sohel Rana told that the meat of tortoise was ascertained by the officials of Wildlife Department primarily and these seized meat sent to testing lab to ensure the matter.
The detained employee of the exporter handed over to Wildlife Department.
An unreliable sources said some dishonest employees of the Civil Aviation are allegedly involved with the export of contraband goods abroad but Civil Aviation Manager of Ctg Airport denied the allegations of involvement of any employees of the department in this scandal.
