The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested at least 60 people in the city in a regular anti-narcotics drive on the charges of selling and consuming illegal drugs.
Different police stations under DMP conducted the drives and arrested the suspected offenders from different areas of the capital in the last 24 hours ending at 6:00am on Tuesday.
During the drive, the law enforcers also seized 1,996 pieces of Yaba, 95 grams of heroin, three kilogrammes of hemp with some other drug items,a
said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Md Walid Hossen.
A total of 44 cases were filed under the Narcotic Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations in the city.
