60 BNP men get bail in Bhola clash

The High Court on Sunday granted six weeks anticipatory bail to 60 leaders and activists of the Bhola district BNP in a case filed by police after a clash.
The High Court bench of Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice Md Salim passed the order after hearing a bail petition filed by the accused.
Lawyers AJ Mohammad Ali, Zainul Abedin, Mahbub Uddin Khokan and Kayser Kamal appeared in the court for the accused.
Two cases were filed in connection with the clash between BNP and police in Bhola, which left one person dead and 60 injured. Sub-Inspector of Sadar Police Station Md Jasimuddin filed the cases with the station.
Around 250-300 unnamed persons were made accused in the murder case while 75 named and 300 unnamed people were sued in the other case filed on charge of obstructing police from performing duties, the OC said.
The BNP men sought bail in the case filed on charge of obstructing police from performing duties, said the lawyers.

Md Harunur Rashid, Secretary of the district unit of BNP, Md Enamul Haque, Organizing Secretary, Humayun Kabir Supan, Joint Secretary of the unit, among others, who got the bail in the case.
