Chittagong Bureau :
Chittagong Development Authority has declared one 6-storied building risky in Mehdibagh area under Chowkbazar thana in the city on Tuesday .
Investigation committee of CDA declared it after investigating the structures of the buildings in the areas physically.
The investigation team consists of Chairman of CDA Building Construction Committee Md. Shahinul Islam Khan, Authorised Officer Engr. Md. Shamim, City Planner Md. Isha Ansari, Asstt. Authorised officer Md. Osman and Md. Iftekar ul Alam, Asstt. Architect Md.Golam Rabbani.
CDA sources said, one 6-storied building in Mehdibag owned by Md. Shahjahan was approved for only 5-storied building . Moreover, one garments factory and one private university are running in the floors despite approval for residential building. The vigilance team of CDA finds the structures are week and can’t able to take load of a garments factory which is fully risky for habitation. According to existing rules of CDA , the name of the risky building will be sent to City Corporation aimed at demolishing the building.
