Joint forces arrested six Jammat-Shibir activists from different areas of Lohagara and Sitakunda upazila of the district on Saturday night for acts of sabotage in the upazilas during opposition blockade and hartal programmme.
Joint forces of police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conducted drives at different areas of the upazila including Chuniti and Barohatia area of Lohagara upazila and Baroyadala under Sitakunda upazila last night and arrested them.
Officer-in-Charge of Lohagara thana Mohammad Shahjahan said the Jammat-Shibir activists were arrested for their involvement in sabotage acts on Chittagong-Cox’s bazar highway.
The arrested were wanted in several cases and handed over to police, sources said.
