UNB, Gazipur :
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) members arrested six alleged members of a robber gang from the Shitalakkha River under Kaliganj upazila of Gazipur district recently.
The elite force also seized a trawler, an engine-run boat and six sharp weapons from their possession. The arrestees are Shahin Hossain, 30, Sohel Mia, 29, Saddam Hossain, 28, Khairul Islam, 23, Upal Kabir, 19, and Faisal, 20. A team of Rab-1 took position at Godaraghat at night based on prior information. The team conducted a drive when the gangsters were looting a dredger around 11:30pm, said Commanding Officer (CO) of Rab-1 Lt Col Sarwar Bin Quashem.
