Detective Branch (DB) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested six Myanmar nationals from a residential hotel in the city early on Thursday . DB, Chittagong in a special drive detained them from United Hotel on Jubilee Road under city’s Kotwali thana around 12.30am. The detainees were identified as Aziz, Nur Mostafa, Faruk, Idris, Alam and Faisal, hailed from Mongdow under Akiab district of Myanmar. Deputy Police Commissioner, DB Hasan Mohammad Showkot Ali said the detainees confessed that they illegally intruded into Bangladesh through Teknaf frontier for job and treatment. A case was filed with city’s Kotwali police station in this connection.
