Six people went missing when a sand-laden trawler capsized in the Dhaleshwari River at Alirtek in Sadar upazila on Wednesday. The trawler with 20-25 workers on board sank in the middle of the river around 2:30pm when it was hit by a Munshiganj-bound cargo vessel, said officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Abdul Malek. Six people went missing in the incident while the rest managed to swim ashore, he said. On information, police from Baktabali police camp rushed in and launched a rescue operation with the help of locals.
