Police and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized about six lakh yaba pills worth Tk 18 crore in a drive conducted in Teknaf upazila of the district on Sunday.
Yaba pills were recovered from the Cox’s Bazar Marine Drive Road in Noakhali Para area of Bahharchara.
Confirming the matter to media, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Teknaf Model Police Station Ranjeet Kumar Barua said: “First raid was launched at 2 am, as it was learnt that a
big shipment had reached Shaplapur Noakhali Para Saikat area of the upazila.”
“Sensing police presence, drug dealers changed their direction. Later, police, around 7am, chased a boat carrying 4 sacks of 6 lakh yaba pills, but the dealers fled the spot,” OC added.
