A Correspondent, Khulna :At least four persons were killed and twelve others injured in a road mishap occurred at Zero point area in Khulna city on Saturday night.The deceased were identified as Shariful Islam,24, son of Moyjuddin of Pathorghata village in Rupsha upazila of Khulna district, unidentified, 40,. Nur Islam,45 and Abdul Latif,35, resident of Chitalmari upazila of Bagerhat district.Police and eyewitnesses said, at around 6pm on Saturday , a Bagerhat bound passenger bus leaving from Sonadanga Bus Terminal turned over at Zero point area near Khulna University, turned over and two persons died on the spot. Two others- Nur Islam and Abdul Latif succumbed to their injuries at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) at around 9.30 pm while undergoing treatment.Being informed, police and members of fire service rushed to the spot and rescued the passengers. 12 critically injured persons were admitted to KMCH for treatment. SM Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Horintana police station told the New Nation that the bus was running speedily and the accident occurred while crossing Zero point intersection. UNB from Benapole adds: Three people, including a minor girl, were killed in three separate incidents across the district on Saturday.The deceased were identified as Achiya Khatun,10, daughter of Shafiqul Islam, a resident of Hanuia village in Monirampur upazila and a class III student of Rajganj Model Madrasha, Ajgar Ali, 44, an employee of Jessore Roads and Highways Department and Akram Hossain, 45, son of Akbar Ali hailing from Rajarhat Bazar in Sadar upazila.In Monirampur, 10-year-old Achiya Khatun was injured as a wall clasped on her while she was playing at an abundant house in the area at afternoon.Locals rescued her and sent her to Jessore Medical College Hospital where she succumbed her injuries at 8pm.In Sadar upazila, Ajgar Ali was injured in a road accident at Khajura on the Jessore-Magura Highway in the evening.Later, he succumbed to his injuries at Jessore Medical College Hospital at 9pm.In the meantime, Akram Hossain was killed as he was crushed under the wheels of Benapole-bound commuter train at Gazir Dorga in Sadar upazila in the afternoon.
