6 killed in road accidents

At least six people were killed and seven others injured in few road accidents in Shariatpur and Bogura districts on Saturday night and Sunday.
In Shariatpur, three workers were killed and six others injured when a truck plunged into a roadside ditch in Khelsi area of Shariatpur on Saturday night.
The deceased were identified as Md Rahmat Hossain, 40, Naim Hossain, 25, and Idris, 60, from Chetua area in Ashasuni upazila of Satkhira.
The injured workers said that they had come to Shariatpur from Satkhira on April 24 for cultivating paddy.
Niaz Mohammad, Deputy Assistant Director of Shariatpur Fire Service and Civil Defence, said that the accident took place around 10:3pam when the paddy-laden truck carrying 12 workers plunged into the roadside ditch after its driver lost control over the steering, leaving the trio dead on the spot and six others injured. The injured were sent to Shariatpur General Hospital.
In Bogra, Three men died and another injured after being hit by a covered van in Sherpur upazila of Bogra on Sunday.
The victims were identified as Mohsin Ali, Sadek Ali, and Shah Mahmud. They were masons by profession. The trio died instantly around 12 am at Sunka on the Dhaka-Bogra highway, quoted Kajal Kumar Nandi, Sub-Inspector of Nandigram Kundarhat Highway Police.
A case will be filed in this regard, SI said.
