UNB, Dhaka :Six people, including an elderly woman, were killed and five others injured in separate road accidents in Comilla, Cox’s Bazar and Habiganj districts on Friday.In Comilla, a truck driver and a helper were killed as the gas cylinder of their vehicle went off at Kutumbapur on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Chandina upazila on Friday afternoon. The deceased were identified as Sohel, 65, a resident of Sayedpur village, and Palash, 28, of Dharmapur village in Adarsha Sadar upazila of the district. In-charge of Iliatganj Highway Police Camp sub-inspector Quazi Maniruzzaman said the truck, loaded with sand, was going to Comilla. When the vehicle reached Kutumbapur, one of its front wheels deflated and the driver lost his control over the steering. As a result, the truck hit a covered van and suddenly the gas cylinder of the vehicle blasted on the aftermath around 3pm, leaving the driver and the helper dead on the spot.
