Six jute godowns were gutted in a massive fire at Madhukhali Jute Market in Faridpur on Monday.
The loss from the fire has been estimated at Tk 1.50 crore.
Local said the fire was engulfed at the market at in the morning (at around 7am).
On information, several fire fighting units of Faridpur Sadar and Madhukhali units rushed the sport and doused the fire after a three hours of hectic efforts.
Lack of water caused delay in dousing the fire, locals alleged.
UNO Md Mostafa Monowar and mayor of Modhukhali Municipality Morshed Rahman Limon remained present at that time of firefighting efforts.
