Staff Reporter :Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police in separate drives arrested six suspected human traffickers from Dhaka, Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar districts on Friday.The law enforcers also seized 17 Bangladeshi passports and cheques worth Tk 90 million from the capita, law enforcers said.In Dhaka, RAB-3 Operation Officer Saiful Islam said that a team of the elite force conducted a drive in the city’s Pirerbagh area in the afternoon and arrested Tanim Islam Chowdhury Kiron, 40.They also seized 17 Bangladeshi passports and cheques worth Tk 90 million from Kiron’s house.He said that Kiron had admitted his link to human trafficking during preliminary interrogation.In Chittagong, RAB arrested a suspected trafficker from Bahaddarhat Bus Terminal area in the district. The arrested man identified as Abdul Haque, 31, is on a police list of human traffickers, RAB spokesman Sohel Mahmud said. He has two cases against him under human trafficking law, he added.In Cox’s Bazar, Police arrested four suspected human traffickers at Ramu, Ukhia and Moheshkhali upazilas.
