The law enforcers in separate drives seized a pistol, bullets, yaba, phensidyl and hemp from the city’s Gandaria, Kamalapur and Demra areas on Sunday and arrested six persons were held in this connection, police said.
In Gandaria, police conducted a drive in Mahmudul Hasan’s Dinanath Sen Road residence following information and arrested him from the house. Hasan, 33, son of Mohammad Ali in the area is a fugitive accused of a case with the police station. Police also seized a pistol, a magazine, three
round bullets, 3.5kg hemp and two hundred bottles of phensidyl from his possession.
On the other hand, members of the Government Railway Police (GRP) in a separate drive at Kamalpur Railway Station around 2:00pm seized 2,000 pieces of yaba pills. They also arrested two passengers of Subarna Express in this connection. The arrested persons were identified as Shajahan, 45, and Jalal, 47.
Earlier, another team of GRP arrested two persons from the station with 35 bottles of phensidyl around 9:00am. They were identified as Imran, 26 and Shahain, 28.
