Detectives arrested six people along with the ‘mastermind’ in connection with leaking HSC examination questions on social networking site from Demra in the capital on Wednesday evening.
The detectives also recovered two CPU, one Tab, one laptop, nine mobile sets, answer sheets of question paper and one register from their possessions.
The arrestees include Raihan Chowdhury alias Dane Brown, the mastermind behind the question leak. Other arrestees are Rahul Mia, Arefin Rabbi, Ovi Abdullah and Abdul Majid, a managing committee member of Gulam Mostafa Model College, Demra.
Tipped off, a DB cyber crime team led by its senior AC Md Nazmul Islam conducted simultaneous drives in Demra area on Wednesday evening and arrested the syndicate members, including its mastermind.
Briefing reporters at DMP media centre, Joint Commissioner (DB) Monirul Islam said the arrestees were involved in leaking HSC question papers. He said Gulam Mostafa Model College, Demra authority is suspected to be involved in the crime. A case was filed with respective police station under ICT act in this connection.
