Police arrested six persons allegedly involved with the pilferage of fuel from a foreign oil tanker following a case filed by the Naval forces in Chittagong recently.
Police rounded up them on Thursday and Friday. The detained oil smugglers idenfitied as Abul Kalam, Nurul Anwar, Md. Siblu, Md. Shakawat, Md.Kalam and Mostafa. Anti-smuggling team of Bangladesh Navy , Chittagong detained a lighter oil tanker named OT New Shah Amanat from outer berth of chittagong port on Thursday last alongwith excess load of fuel from a foreign oil tanker.
The arrested oil smugglers have been handed over to Patenga thana police, sources said which was confirmed by the Naval Petty officer SM Alam. Patenga thana officer incharge said following the filing of case against these oil smugglers, police rounded up three on Thursday night and 3 others on Friaday morning.
