A tribunal in Kishoreganj has sentenced six people including a mother and her three sons to life-term imprisonment and acquitted three others in a case filed over the murder of farmer Dulal Miah at Kargaon in Katiadi upazila of Kishoreganj.
Senior District and Sessions Judge Md Sayedur Rahman passed the order on Monday noon.
The tribunal also fined the convicts Tk 10,000 each in default of which they have to serve six more months in jail. The convicts are Mojju Banu, (60) wife of late Golap Miah, her three sons Bachchu Miah(38), Ferdous Miah, (28)Safek Miah,( 27) Jobayer(, 28), son of Abdul Mannan and Faruk Miah, son of Abdul Mannaf, in Kargaon under katiadi upazila of Kishoreganj.
On June 26, 2017, Dulal Miah was critically injured in an attack by the convicted men.. He was admitted to the Jahurul Islam Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Later, Dulal’s wife Nazma Akter filed a case against 10 people with Katiadi Model Police Station.
DB Police Inspector Sanowar Hossain submitted a charge-sheet against 9 people to the court”
Kishorganj’s Public Prosecutor (PP) Advocate Shah Azizul Haque stood for the state.
