Six people have got death penalty in the sensitive Monir murder case. Judge Miazi Shahidul Islam Chowdhury of Additional District and Session Judge`s Court-2, Narayanganj passed the order on Monday noon. The death penalty convicts are Soleman, Ripon, Jahangir, Akkas, Ohid alias Roni and Akhter Hossain. According to the case statement, on the midnight of July 25, 2008, a gang of robbers looted a mobile phone and Tk 1300 from Monir in Bhulta Gausia area when he was returning home. After the robbery they killed Monir and his tied-up body into water.
