Police in a drive arrested six members of a fraud gang who deceive people in the name of arranging brides or grooms for them from Kashiani upazila sadar on Friday.
The arrestees are were Rubel Mehedi, 32, son of Anwar Hossain, his wife Afroza Begum, 28, his younger brother Md Tanu Anik, 30, of Ulpur village of Sadar upazila, Moshiur
Mollah, 20, son of Lutfar Mollah, Md Earshad Mollah, 34, son of Shaid Mollah of Targram village and Abdul Aziz Mollah, 30, son of Babu Mollah of Sitarampur village in the upazila.
Md Sanwar Hossain, additional superintendent of Gopalganj Police, said the fraudsters trapped people by giving advertisement for arranging brides and grooms.
Later, if people reply to them, they used to charge huge amount of money saying that they will arrange their marriage and cheat them.
