Bakalia thana police of CMP rounded up six fake policemen from Kalamiah bazaar area in city on Tuesday night.
These fake policemen impersonating as DB police abducted two youths and snatched mobile phone, money and other valuables from them .
Sensing the news of fake police raid, Bakalia thana police conducted raid in the area and managed to apprehend six fake DB police from the spot. The detainedfake police identified as Humayun Kabir, Ibrahim Khalil alias Jasim, Imran Ali, Md. Mona, Shahjahan Munna and Imram Hossain Showkat. Police recovered on revolver, one knife, wireless set, walkie talkie, handcup, 3 hijacked mobile sets and cast Tk.2500 from their possession.
Police sources said these fake DB police were detained from Tulatali crossing under Kalamia bazaar area while fleeing in a CNG auto-rickshaw.
These fake policemen hijacked Sujan das and his friend Mamun while waiting for Bandarban bus in Kalamia Bazar stand.
