Detectives, in separate drives, arrested six persons who allegedly involved cheating people impersonating themselves as DB men in the district on Sunday.
The arrestees were identified as Md. Shakil, 30, his mother in law Halima Khatun, 50, Osman Gani, 27, Raj Kumar Kormokar, 45, Rezaul Sheikh, 40, and Sanjoy Haldar, 45.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mahbub Alam Khan said, Shakil along with his associates had been involving in cheating people for last seven years identifying themselves as DB men.
Detectives first arrested Shakil by tracking his mobile phone and later detained the other gang members according to his confession, he added. DB police also recovered a handcuff, cash Tk. 20,000, three vanity bags, 20 luggage, six mobile phones and uniform of police.
A case has been lodged against them with Chapainawabganj Sadar Thana.
