Chittagong metropolitan police arrested six drug peddlers with 2500 pieces of Yaba tablets after searching a city bound passenger bus from Cox’s Bazar at Shah Amanat bridge area under Bakalia thana on Monday night.
The arrestees were identified as Mohammad Shamim,30,Robiul Hossain,18, Jakir Hossain,32, Mohammad Hasan,26, Shamsul Alam,31 and Hossain Ahmed,38. All the arrestees hail from Taqnaf Upazila of Cox’s Bazar district.
Bakalia thana police on secret information conducted a drive at separate Chittagong bound passenger buses from Cox’s bazaar district and arrested the drug peddlers with 2500 pieces of sex stimulated Yaba tablets at around 11.30 pm last night.
A case was filed with Bakalia thana in this connection.
