Six cyclones shelters building of Khael Khair Programme was handed over at Bauphal Upazila in Patuakhali an a ceremony at Bauphal Upazi Parishad Auditorium yesterday.
The keys of the buildings were handed over to the concern persons. UNO Abdullah-al-Mahmud Zaman presided over the ceremony.
Dr. Nijad Mohammed Subei was the chief guest of the ceremony. Mr. Sufee Mustaque Ahmed, Programme Director, Mohammad Rezaul Karim and Engineer Md. Jahurul Islam were also present.
Mentionable here that by the donation of Former King of Saudi Arabia Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, Islamic Development Bank (IDB) implemented this program under the project “Khail Khair Program for relief of cyclone sidr victims Bangladesh”.
A total of 8 buildings (cyclone shelter) with many modern facilities like solar system, rain water harvesting system, teaching room etc. are built in the remote area (Island) of Bauphal.
