Atleast 6 candidates backed by different political parties in Gafargaon Upazillas have withdrawn their nomination papers filed for the March 31 Upazila Parished election on Tuesday.
Of them, 5 candidates of chairman post, 1 of vice chairman post are from Gafargaon upzilas.
Earlier on march 2, twenty candidates filed their nomination papers to contest in Gafargaon upazila.
In five chairman aspirants who have withdrawn their candidatures are : Alal Ahmed (AL), Obaidullah Anwar Bulbul (AL), Kari Habibullah Belali (JP), Saifus Salehin Shofa (BNP), Josim Uddin (AL).
Besides, Vice-Chairman candidate Adv Shofiqur Rahman (AL) has withdrawn his candidature.
