6 BD migrant workers killed in Saudi fire

At least six Bangladeshis killed in a factory fire in Saudi Arabian city Madina on Wednesday night.
Five of the victims have been indenfied so far. They are: Mizanur Rahman, son of sultan Ahmed, and Md Arafat Hossain Manik, son of Sultan Ahmed — both from Chattogram’s Lohagara upazila; Ishak Mia, son of Jalal Ahmed, Abdul Aziz, son of Kabir Ahmed and Md Rafiq Uddin, son of Abu Gafur — all three from Kutubjam, Maheshkhali in Cox’s Bazar, in accordance with a statement published on Thursday by the Bangladesh embassy in Saudi Arabia.
According to the statement, a total of seven foreign workers, including six Bangladeshis, were killed in the fire at a sofa factory near Heraz Market, which is 25 kms from Madina city. Local fire department could not confirm the origin of the fire.
The bodies were kept at the morgue of King Fahad Hospital in Madina. The Bangladesh Consulate in Jeddah is trying to repatriate the bodies and realise the compensation.
