Some 6 BNP-Jamat leaders and activists were arrested by the police from the different upazilas of the district during the last 24 hours ending on Wednesday for their involvement in Sabotage activates.
Hayatul Islam, Additional Police Super of Bagerhat disclosed this to the newsmen on Tuesday morning.
Modasser Ali Mallik, an UP member of Fakirhat Union and the local BNP leader was arrested by Fakirhat Thana police from Fakirhat Upazila on the charge of setting fire on a cement loaded truck at Syambgat area of the Upazila on Tuesday morning.
The Additional Police Super further disclosed, Masum Billah, a teacher of Saitgumbaz Baitush-Sharif Alim Madrasa under Bagerhat Sadar Upazila and a local Jamaat activists was arrested on the charge of holding a secret meeting in the madrasa.
Police also arrested 4 more Shibir activists from Kachua, Rampal and Mongla Upazilas of the district during the peered.
