Bid to snatch tender: 6 AL men put on remand

Six Jubo League men, who were arrested from RAJUK [Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha] Bhaban on Thursday for allegedly snatching tender schedule, have been placed on one-day remand.
Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubur Rahman on Friday passed the remand order in a case filed by Rapid Action Battalion [RAB] official Md Khalequzzaman under the Speedy Trial Act with Motijheel police station.
The accused are: Jubo League central committee members Gazi Mazharul Islam Gofran and Mizanur Rahman Manik and supporters Mohammad Selim, Khairul Alam Tuhin, Mohammad Russel and Kazi Sohel.
Meanwhile, the Awami Jubo League high command also expelled Gazi Mazharul Islam Gofran, who is Liberation War Affairs Secretary of Dhaka City Jubo League unit from the organization for his involvement in RAJUK tender snatching.
Earlier on Thursday, the members of RAB -3 arrested six ruling party men including Gazi Mazharul Islam Gofran on charge of attempting to snatch away tender document in presence of tender opening committee.
