Bangladesh and China on Sunday signed six instruments including three MoUs, two cooperation agreements and one exchange of notes in the public and private sectors in the fields of education, media and container inspection to further boost the bilateral ties of the two countries.
The deals were signed following the meeting between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Chinese Vice Premier Lio Yandong at the Prime Minister’s official Ganobhaban residence yesterday evening. Both of them also witnessed the signing of the deals and instruments. The MoU on cooperation in education between the Ministry of Education of both Bangladesh and China was signed by Education Ministry Secretary of Bangladesh Md Nazrul Islam Khan and Chinese Education Minister Yuan Guiren.
The MoU on cooperation in radio, film and television field between the Ministry of Information of Bangladesh and the State Administration of Press, Publication, radio, film and television of China was signed by Bangladesh Information Secretary Martuza Ahmed and Vice Minister of State administration of press, publication, radio, film and television of China Tong Gang.
Another MoU between the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh and Beijing Foreign Studies University, China on cooperation in the areas of exchange of students, faculty, scholars and administrative staff, research collaboration and sharing of academic materials and information was signed by Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique and President of BFSU Peng Long.
The cooperation agreement of joint undergraduate program for textile engineering between Southeast University, Bangladesh and Wuhan Textile University, China was signed by Southeast University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Anwar Hossain and WTU Chancellor Wei Yiliang.
The other cooperation agreement of joint undergraduate program for Fashion Design between the BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology, Bangladesh and Wuhan Textile University, China was signed by Founder chairman of BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology Muzaffar U Siddique and WTU Chancellor Wei Yiliang.
The lone exchange of notes between Bangladesh and China on container inspection equipments project was signed by ERD Senior Secretary Mohammad Mejbahuddin and Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ma Mingqiang.
