Vitamin A Plus campaign begins: 6.21 children to be givern capsules in 3 dists

In Sylhet, 4 lakh 10 thousand 9 hundred 65 children will be fed Vitamin A plus capsule in Sylhet district today
Civil Surgeon Dr pramanondo Mondol said this while briefing reporters at Sylhet Civil Surgeon Office on the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign-2020 across the country on Tuesday.
During this campaign, 49 thousand 6 hundred and 95 children aged 6 to 11 months will be fed blue capsules while, 4 lakh 10 thousand 9 hundred and 65 children aged 12 to 59 months will be fed red capsules in the district.
He also informed the campaign will run from 8 am to 4pm on that day at 428 centres under 13 upazilas of the district. field workers of Public Health Department, staff of Family Planning Department, -community health provider along with 4thousand 8hundred and 56 volunteers will serve on the ground level of the campaign.
Responding to a question, the Civil Surgeon said this year, the blue capsules were imported from Canada and red capsules were made in Bangladesh. He urged others to refrain from consuming these capsules, except children of the specified age.
In Habiganj, 3 lakh 56 thousand 7 hundred 92 children will be fed Vitamin A plus capsule in Habiganj district next Saturday, January 11. Civil Surgeon Dr KM Mostafizur Rahman said this while briefing reporters at Habiganj Modern District Sadar Hospital on the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign-2020 across the country on Tuesday.
During this campaign, 43 thousand 5 hundred and 67 children aged 6 to 11 months will be fed blue capsules while, 3 lakh 13 thousand 2 hundred and 25 children aged 12 to 59 months will be fed red capsules in the district.
He also informed the campaign will run from 8 am to 4pm on that day at 1886 centres under 9 upazilas of the district. 330 field workers of Public Health Department, 520 staff of Family Planning Department, 214-community health provider along with 3 thousand 7 hundred and 72 volunteers will serve on the ground level of the campaign.

Mayor of Rangpur Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa disclosed this at a press conference at RpCC conference room today while elaborating the preparations on making the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign a success .
The campaign will be carried out under the auspices of the Public Health and Nutrition Institute and National Nutrition Services under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with UNICEF assistance.
Mayor Mostafa said 634 volunteers under supervision of 75 supervisors and eight satellite monitoring teams will provide Vitamin A Plus Capsules at 295 outreach centres in all 33 wards of the city from 8 am to 5 pm today.
BSS from Rajshahi adds: Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has set a target to feed around 62,168 babies with vitamin ‘A’ plus capsules during the National vitamin ‘A’ plus campaign-2020 today.
Of those, around 7,950 children aged between six months and 11 months will be given blue-coloured capsule of high powered Vitamin A and 54,218 children aged between one year and five will be given red-coloured capsule of high-powered Vitamin A.
The programme will be conducted at 384 centres, including 343 permanent and 41 mobile ones, in all 30 wards of the city corporation. RCC’s Chief Health Officer Dr AFM Anjuman Ara Begum revealed this while addressing a press conference at Nagar bhaban conference hall here on Wednesday .She sought responsive role of media as it’s very important for making the Vitamin-A plus Campaign a success.
